Lion Brand® Vanna’s Choice® GAUGE: 18 sts + 24 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (knit on RS, purl on WS). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

ALBUM COVER Flap With A, cast on 27 sts. Work in Garter st (k every row) until piece measures 2 1/2 in. (6.5 cm) from beg. Next Row (RS): Knit. Next Row (WS): K2 (for Garter st edge), p23, k2 (for Garter st edge). Rep last 2 rows 3 more times. Next Row (RS): K2, p23 (for turning ridge), k2. Front Cover Next Row: K2, p23, k2. Begin Stripe and Ridge Sequence Row 1: With A, knit. Rows 2-4: With A, k2, p23, k2. Row 5: With B, knit. Row 6: With B, k2, p23, k2. Row 7: With C, knit. Row 8: With C, k2, p23, k2. Rows 9-12: Rep Rows 1-4. Row 13: With C, knit. Row 14: With C, k2, p23, k2. Row 15: With B, knit. Row 16: With B, k2, p23, k2. Rep Rows 1-16 once more. Spine Next Row (RS): With A, knit. Next Row (WS): With A, k2, p23, k2. Rep last 2 rows 5 more times. Back Cover Rep Rows 5-16 of Stripe Sequence. Rep Rows 1-16 of Stripe Sequence. Rep Rows 1-4 of Stripe Sequence. Continue with A only. Next Row (RS): Knit. Next Row (WS): With A, knit (for turning ridge). Flap Next Row (RS): Knit. Next Row (WS): K2, p23, k2. Rep last 2 rows 3 more times. Work in Garter st for 2 1/2 in. (6.5 cm). Bind off. FINISHING Fold Flaps along turning ridges to WS of Cover. Sew ends of Flaps to Cover. Label With B, cast on 15 sts. Work in St st (k on RS, p on WS) until piece measures about 1 in. (2.5 cm) from beg. Bind off. Sew Label, centered, to Spine. Cut short lengths of C and glue to Label to spell out year. Weave in ends.
